About växla.com and our methodology
växla.com helps you compare currencies, convert amounts and follow exchange rates over time. The website is operated by WebFinance Digital i Sverige AB.
Source and updates
We retrieve reference rates from Sveriges Riksbank on banking days. Each currency has its own observation date. On weekends and before the next publication, the latest available rate is used. These are not real-time rates.
How we calculate conversions
Rates are expressed in Swedish kronor per unit of foreign currency. To convert between two currencies, we multiply the amount by the source currency’s SEK rate and divide by the target currency’s SEK rate. Bank fees and exchange-rate markups are not included.
Historical data
We retrieve available observations from 1995 onwards. Coverage starts on different dates for different currencies. Charts may carry the previous banking day’s rate forward across weekends; those days are not new observations. Euro history before 1999 refers to its predecessor, the ECU. Discontinued currencies and changes in currency units must not be interpreted as uninterrupted investment returns.
